JEFFERSON CITY — State Sen. Brian Munzlinger, R-Williamstown, chairman of the Missouri Senate Agriculture, Food Production and Outdoor Resources committee, has been recognized by the Missouri Farm Bureau for his help in getting the Missouri Farming Rights Amendment, also known as the Right to Farm initiative, approved by Missouri voters this year.
“Among my proudest achievements as a state lawmaker is getting Right to Farm on the ballot and passed by the voters in August,” Sen. Munzlinger said. “I am now the average age of the American farmer, which means we really need to work to keep younger generations involved in agriculture, which remains Missouri’s No. 1 industry. The Right to Farm initiative is a key step in keeping agriculture on top here in the Show-Me State.”
Missouri Farm Bureau showed its appreciation for Sen. Munzlinger’s work on Amendment 1 at a recent gathering. Because of his efforts as chairman and working in the General Assembly throughout the process, the Missouri Farming Rights Amendment was placed on the August Primary Election ballot. Thanks to Sen. Munzlinger’s continuing support of agriculture, Amendment 1 passed.
“I would like to thank the Missouri Farm Bureau for their recognition,” Sen. Munzlinger said. “It took a lot of work from hundreds of people to get the word out about the necessity of Right to Farm, beginning with Farm Bureau, other farm organizations, some of my colleagues on both sides of the aisle, and farmers and ranchers across the state. I would also like to thank the Missouri voters who studied the issue and voted to support their friends and neighbors in agriculture across the state. I am proud to have been a part of the effort that got Right to Farm on the books in Missouri.”
